Garden Fresh

We have had the privilege of helping Pat's Grandma Helen with her garden this year. It is huge. I will post a picture of it as soon as I get one. When we returned from Oak Island after our week-long vacay, the garden was a jungle.
This is just a smidgen of what the garden had to offer.

Included is the largest zuccini I've ever seen, among a couple of normal-sized zuccini, bell peppers, green beans, white cucumbers, tomatoes and tommy toes, straight 8 cucumbers, cayenne peppers, and on the bottom right is a jar of Grandma Helen's homemade APPLE BUTTER... a special treat we conned her into giving us. Let me tell you, it is simply scrumptious.
Of course, as I was making dinner last night, Pat enjoyed stringing the beans.

Grandma Helen said she gave at least that many veggies to at least 5 people while we were gone. Tonight, I am using the tomatoes, bell peppers, zuccini and cayenne peppers in a stir fry. Can't wait! Pat has the grill fired up as we speak for steaks to go with it. Mmmm....

...we are wondering what to do with the XL zuccinni... suggestions are welcome.
